Planters

Whether you want a planter to grow flowers, herbs or vegetables there are many advantages to having a planter in your garden. A planter allows you to choose the soil, affords better pest and weed control, allows for better drainage and much more.

Planter sizes

The size of planter you'll find on my website is limited to a few set sizes. I make most my planters to bespoke sizes to fit a customers needs so please get in touch to discuss the size you require.

Planter Finish

Each planter type has its own option of finishes. These finishes include -

  • The pressure treated timber as it is without any additional finish

  • An exterior wood stain (choice of colours)

  • An exterior paint (choice of colours, from the Cuprinol garden shades range)

  • An exterior varnish

If you don't see the finish or colour for your choice of planter please get in touch and I'll be happy to help.

Screws

When constructing my planters I always use exterior long lasting decking screws or exterior coach screws.

Building Material

Most planters you'll find on my website at the moment are made from pressure treated pine or spruce to help protect against rot and insect damage. This includes all decking board planters.

Planter Feet

All of my ground planters come with feet to raise them off the ground and protect them from standing water. Most planters have screw on rubber feet or height adjustable feet for levelling of bigger planters. A very few smaller decking planters have a wooden batten on the base.

Glue

Where glue is used on a planter I always use an exterior water resistant non toxic glue along side brad nails or decking screws.
